Abstract

Objective: To determine the level of knowledge and preventive attitudes about Human Papilloma Virus in students of the National University Hermilio Valdizan 2019. Material and methods: Descriptive correlational, cross-sectional and prospective. A questionnaire was applied that was validated by expert judgment and Cronbrach's alpha that was carried out in a sample of 400 students. Statistical analysis was performed with the SPSS-24 program. Results The level of knowledge found in the study population that has a high level 76.3% have a low level, 20.8% a medium level and 3.0% have a high level. Regarding preventive attitudes, 10.5% of the surveyed students practice bad attitudes, 35.5% practice good attitudes and 54% have regular attitudes. When relating the level of knowledge and preventive attitudes, it was found that the highest percentage relationship was evidenced between the low level of knowledge and regular preventive attitudes represented by 42.5%. Conclusions: It was concluded that 76.3% presented a low level of knowledge and 54% have regular preventive attitudes about the human papilloma virus, these being the highest percentage values. When relating the level of knowledge and preventive attitudes, we found that these variables are not significantly related.
