Abstract
Abstract William E. Connolly is an American political philosopher, who has creatively reworked many of the major and minor styles of theorizing in political theory over the last 40 or so years. He attended a commuter college in his hometown of Flint, Michigan, receiving his PhD from the University of Michigan in 1965, and is currently the Krieger‐Eisenhower Professor of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. He has published a series of classical books and articles in political theory, which continue to influence and provoke theorists and practitioners in numerous disciplines. Several edited volumes on his work by leading political theorists, and a spate of articles, papers, and symposia exploring his political philosophy, are testimony to its wide and growing influence.
