Abstract

The report thus focuses on the purpose of the connections and on their relations to the building components rather than on the mechanics of the connection. The Committee is suggesting that the structural integration of components be accomplished through four tie systems (see Fig. 1) and gives specific forces for which the ties are to be design ed. In this article, the purpose and magnitudes of these tie systems are examined and compared to other recommendations.
