Abstract

Branching-process models for ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation give the same moment sum rules for the one-particle inclusive spectrum as those obtained in scale-invariant theories. In such models the one-particle inclusive spectrum is computed explicitly at high energies and is shown to be Gaussian in a variable which is the analog of rapidity in hadronic reactions. Two-particle correlations, exclusive cross sections, and prong cross sections are discussed and definite predictions are obtained.
