Abstract

Five new weak bands in the electronic spectrum of gaseous tantalum hydride (TaH) have been recorded and rotationally analyzed by laser excitation spectroscopy. Due to common upper or lower states, the measurement of these bands has provided absolute term energies for all 18 known electronic states of the molecule. A global least-squares fit to all new and previously recorded excitation bands has produced an accurate set of term energies and rotational constants for the electronic states. Refined Ω-doubling constants are also reported as well as absolute e/f parity assignments for the Ω-doubled [16.1]1 state.
