Abstract

Objective To evaluate conjunctival flap covering for treatment of refractory corneal ulcer.Methods Eight-four cases of corneal ulcer that were ineffective by treatment of medicine had undergone conjunctival flap covering treatment. No perforated corneal ulcer was included. Results 80 cases were successful, the cure rate was 95. 24%. Conjunctival flap shrunk and underwent secondary surgery in 4 eyes, in which one case had secondary glaucoma, and iridectomy was applicated. Conclusion Bubar conjunctival flap covering can effectively control the development of corneal ulcers, save the eye, and give chance for further sight restoring.
