Abstract

In mining geophysics, ore masses sometimes occur as dike-like or sheet-like structures of very great length and depth. Several methods for interpreting the magnetic anomalies caused by thin and thick dikes have been published in geophysical literature on many occasions. The present paper deals with a method of determining the parameters of long tabular bodies in which the effect of constant regional anomalies, if present, are completely eliminated. The origin of the field profile is first located using conjugate points and the symmetrical component is then isolated and analysed.
