Abstract

A case of conidiobolomycosis due to Conidiobolus coronatus is reported in a 29-year-old man from Cameroon. Lesions spread over a period of 10 years during which the patient took a lot of antifungal drugs (ketoconazole, itraconazole) without compliance. The dosage and observance of this treatment are unknown but it was ineffective. Finally, the combination of ketoconazole at 200 mg per day for 14 months with compliance and fluconazole at 50 mg per day for the first month proved to be effective. The patient made a mycological recovery. However, as the lesions are very large, surgery is required to repair the facial deformity.
