Abstract

This paper presents a conic optimization method based on Semi-Definite Programming (SDP) relaxation for calculating the Static Voltage Stability Limitation (SVSL) in Active Distribution Networks (ADNs), considering correlated uncertainties associated with wind speeds and load forecasting. This method analyses the effect of wind generation on the SVSL interval evaluation with consideration of different wind turbine models. With the proposed Interval Ellipsoid Hybrid Convex Model (IEHCM), a conic optimization solution is presented, which may yield better results in dealing with correlated uncertainties and maintain high accuracy and convergence stability as compared to other alternative methods. The proposed method is tested on a modified IEEE 33-bus systems and several IEEE standard systems to show its superiority.
