Congestion Control Mechanism for Unresponsive Flows in Internet Through Active Queue Management System (AQM)

Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, we would like to analyze different type of congestion control methods which are using active queue management (AQM) system. Nowadays, we need fast and secure transmission of large amount of data, through network resources. So we need congestion control, also it has an important role to play in it. Best AQM method can provide an environment, which will provide high throughput, minimum response time and maximum resources utilization. Unresponsive flows are one of the factors, which are reducing quality of service (QoS). If we can control or remove unresponsive flows, it will considerably reduce congestion also increase the resources utilization as well as output. Many CHOKe series AQM and RED series AQM are using for congestion control in the network. Active queue management has an important role in congestion control; because they are handling information flow at ingress router.
