Abstract
A 27-month-old patient with extreme gingival hyperplasia was found to have idiopathic congenital gingival fibromatosis. The treatment was excision of the excess gingival tissue and gingivoplasty to produce normal gingival contours. The philosophy of the timing of therapy has been explored. The similarity of gingival fibromatosis and keloid has been noted.
