Abstract

Hypothyroidism is not known to present with seizures in neonates. This report describes a newborn who presented with seizures that were not controlled with several antiepileptic medications. The infant was later diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and started on L-thyroxine. Seizures subsequently ceased and the antiepileptic medications were stopped. (J Pediatr Neurol 2004; 2(2): 111–113).
