Abstract
We report two cases of patients with bilateral hyperplastic persistent pupillary membranes. Each of these patients has been managed conservatively with close observation while maintaining relatively good visual acuity. In one of our patients, neodymium-YAG laser was eventually used to create a small central opening in the left eye. This intervention resulted in an improvement in visual acuity. Our experience with these patients suggests that conservative management rather than intraocular surgery is an acceptable and safe way of managing patients with similar clinical findings.
