Abstract

A case of congenital anterior urethral diverticulum is presented. The patient, a 1-month-old boy, had presented at birth with a swollen penis and inability to void. Cystourethrography revealed a large septated anterior urethral diverticulum which was subsequently resected. Diagnosis of this rare entity is best accomplished by cystourethrography. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to the prevention of infection, obstruction, and perforation.
