Abstract

Dipole moments, NMR, IR and Raman spectra of trans-1,2-dihalogenoindans were determined. Linear relations were found to exist between the squares of the dipole moments and the vicinal proton spin coupling constants. It is concluded that the diaxial conformer predominates in solution.
