Abstract
Abstract By using the concept of a microheterogeneous instantaneous structure of amorphous flexible-chain polymers, empirical equations relating melt surface tension with effective free-volume fraction, feef = (va - vc)/va, as well as with activation energy for viscous flow and compressibility, are derived, and the obtained results are compared with existing correlations.
