Abstract
A new class of gauged WZNW models has been proposed by O'Raifeartaigh. It describes classically a series of conformal integrable field theories including the conformal Toda field theory as a special case. We quantize a constrained WZNW model (the gauged WZNW model with all connections fixed to zero) in the path-integral and BRST gauge-fixing framework and derive the quantum version of the integrable field theories of O'Raifeartaigh by redefining bosonic ghosts for them to be purely local gauge degrees of freedom.
