Abstract

The CONFLUENCE Program is a joint Argentine, French, and U.S. effort to study the dynamics of the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. The program concentrates on the Brazil and Malvinas (or Falkland) currents along the coast of Argentina and Uruguay. This article is an overview of the 1988–1990 field work, with a few preliminary results.
