Abstract
Conflict can be a common occurrence in romantic relationships that impacts both the individuals and the relationships in a variety of ways. A growing body of literature has improved our understanding of conflict management styles and important factors that influence conflict management behaviours. Researchers have also identified common topics of conflict in romantic relationships and how these topics affect positive and negative behaviours of conflict management. This entry provides a brief overview of conflict management styles, what influences these styles, outcomes of conflict, and topics of conflict. Taken together, styles of conflict management as well as topics of conflict are important to understand in the context of relationships.
