Abstract
The authors consider a perturbative chromoelectric vacuum for non-Abelian gauge theories and find that some colour degrees of freedom in the excitations about the vacuum cease to exist as asymptotic states. In addition, in the perturbative expansion they find there is considerable improvement in the infra-red behaviour of the theory.
