Abstract

Recently the 4-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet (GB) theory has been extended by introducing a new parameter of the form where α is a nonzero real parameter. The idea also has been extended to higher-order pure Lovelock theory by rescaling the parameter in a similar manner. In a particular third-order Lovelock spacetime we investigate particle confinement, the absence of flat rotation curves, and the possible collision of null sources that gives rise locally to such a static spacetime.
