Abstract

An investigation of the confined transmission resonances in multiple quantum wells has been carried out using modified envelope function approximation including the é6, é7, and é8 host bands. The theoretical results are compared with the results of experimental excitation spectroscopy. Both symmetric and anti-symmetric confined levels have been observed. While the first symmetric confined level exists for all values of the well-width, all others disappear for well-width less than 5.0nm.
