Abstract

The effect of the interaction of electrons with polar optical phonons on the binding energy of shallow donors is investigated taking into account the phonon confinement in the cylindrical quantum wires. We have investigated the variation of the hydrogenic donor binding energy shift conditioned by both electron–confined-phonon and electron–interface-phonon interactions as a function of wire radius and donor location.
