Abstract

The paper analyzes complex multi-axis reconfigurable machine, which meets all the requirements to perform the wire cutting process. The complex multi-axis machine consists of two parallel 2-axis mechanisms that are connected by wire. The resulting mechanism has four degrees of freedom and allows the translatory movement of the wire(tool) along two axes and rotation of the wire about the same axes. The machine has the ability to position the workpiece prior to machining. For analyzed mechanism the equations that present solutions of kinematics problems are derived. The derived equations are generalized and valid for any configuration of the mechanism and they were used to analyze the workspace, predict errors during machining process and virtual machine configuring, which simulates work of a real machine according to the generated program.
