Abstract
In this article the authors consider a new technique for tuning a magnetic periodic focusing system (MPFS) for a traveling wave tube (TWT) of a cosmic purpose. The article gives detailed analysis of existing methods of tuning the MPFS and TWT. The authors point out the shortcomings of the existing methods of setting up the MPPS and offer options for their elimination. The article considers the possibility of applying special requirements to the transverse magnetic field of MPFS and the new TWT tuning technique. In conclusion, the authors demonstrate the results of a practical experiment.
