Abstract

There is a lot of excitement around Cloud computing and Software as a Service paradigm nowadays. Everyone is talking about the enormous potential of global processing power and the new business model created by rent-a-service paradigm. While obtaining configurable services typically imply the ability to provide tools and techniques for dynamic modification of core software behavior through run-time properties, few technical guidelines may be found in literature to address intrinsic software design issues raised by such a goal. Thus, this paper introduces a service architecture based on business rules, aiming to deliver multi-tenant efficiency and highly configurable services, two key attributes of SaaS environments. A real world example is also provided in order to validate the model.
