Confessional Diversity of the Far East: Past and Present

Abstract

The publication is devoted to the history of religion in the Russian Far East in the 17th — 21st centuries. The article considers the emergence and development of religious organizations and communities in the region, the formation of a multi-confessional population, the creation and transformation of church administrative structures, issues of relations between the state and religious organizations, interfaith relations. The historical features and characteristic features of the religious life of the Russian Far East are shown. The main stages of historical development and key events are noted.
