Abstract

On April 23 and 24, 1970, some thirty Latin teachers and public school administrators-mostly foreign language specialists-met at the University of Pittsburgh to discuss the teaching of Latin in inner city elementary schools and high schools. The conference was organized by the Department of Classics at the University of Pittsburgh and was supported by funds from the National Foundation for the Humanities, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction, and the University of Pittsburgh.
