Abstract

The conference examined problems of the development of new economical types of concrete and reinforcedconcrete structures on the basis of a study of l imiting states and problems that arose when writing up the text of chapter SNiP II-I 14-68 to take the place of ~Norms and Technical Specifications for Designing. . . (SN 55-59)." This chapter of SNiP was drawn up in accord with the plan outlined at the first joint conference in 1965 [1]. This work is the result of the collective effort of the B. E. Vedeneev All-Union Research Institute of Hydraulic Engineering (VNIIG), the S. Ya. Zhuk All-Union Planning, Surveying, and Research Institute (Gidroproekt), A. V. Vinter Tbilisi Research-Institute of Structures and Water Power Engineering (TNISG~I), State Institute for Planning in River Transportation (Giptorechtrans), State Planning, Design, and Research Institute of Marine Transportation of the Ministry of the Maritime Fleet (Soyuzmorniiproekt), M. L Kalinin Leningrad Polytechnic Institute (LPI), with the participation of the Research-Institute of Reinforced-Concrete (NIIZhB), and All-Union State Planning, Surveying, and Research Institute of Water Management Construction (Giprovodkhoz).
