Abstract
The envelopes of the overall conductivities of effective medium intergranularly random and completely random polycrystalline aggregates are compared with the available bounds on the polycrystals' properties. The geometrically realizable models cover the major parts of the property ranges permitted by the bounds, hence the estimates represent the behaviour of realistic random aggregates well, given the uncertainty in the shapes of constituent crystals.
