Abstract
Nickel-oxide nanoparticles were successfully prepared by sol-gel method. Nanocomposites of PANI and NiO2 have been synthesized using the in situ polymerization method for different concentrations of nano NiO2 powder. The formation of nanocomposite and changes in the structural and micro structural properties of the materials were investigated by X-ray diffractometry (XRD) .The surface morphology of PANI – NiO2 nanocomposite was elucidated using Scanning Electron Microscopy and TEM. AC conductivity studies of PANI – NiO2 composites for different wt% show thermally activated behavior. The conductivity was found to increase with the increase in temperature indicating the semiconducting behavior of all the compositions.
