Abstract
ABSTRACT The Medical Council of India, now the National Medical council changed the teaching pattern of the Under Graduate Medical Course (MBBS) after 22 years. The new revised curriculum and teaching pattern is known as Competency Based Medical Education (CBME). CBME pattern started from the 2019 MBBS batch. In the second year of MBBS, they have to learn para clinical subjects, Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology. Teaching Practical classes to MBBS students for the first year PG residents is a new experience for them, as they just start their paraclinical specialty journey, and it is even more difficult for them when they are teaching the CBME batch. To take one practical class MBBS, PG residents must start the preparation before at least one week. In that one week, we read the topic thoroughly with concepts. They must prepare the PowerPoint presentation followed by a microteaching presentation to the departmental faculties and have to do the correction to the presentation. PG residents make many arrangements like smear slides for staining, culture plates, and biochemical reactions to demonstrate to MBBS students but when only 4–5 students were attending the physical demonstration classes, all the preparation look useless.
