Abstract

En este trabajo se compara la resistencia frente a la corrosion marina de diversas pinturas antes y despues de ser modificadas por adicion de un polimero conductor. Las propiedades fisicas de las pinturas se caracterizaron mediante espectroscopia IR, analisis termico y ensayos mecanicos. Los ensayos de corrosion se llevaron a cabo por inmersion de sustrato metalico en una disolucion de NaCl 3.5%. La degradacion superficial de los recubrimientos se analizo mediante microscopia optica y microscopia electronica de barrido. Los resultados muestran que la adicion de una baja concentracion de polimero conductor mejora de manera notable las capacidades anticorrosivas de la pintura compuesta por resinas epoxicas. This work compares the resistance against marine corrosion of several paints before and after being modified by adding a conducting polymer. The physical properties of the paints were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, thermal analyses and mechanical assays. Corrosion experiments were carried out by immersion of metallic substrates in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The effects of the degradation on the coating surfaces were analyzed using both optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. An important improvement in the protection was found after adding a small amount of conducting polymer to the epoxy resin paint.
