Abstract

Abstract The present research highlights the synthesis of new polymer Polyborozirconia(o-toluidine) (PBOT-Z): a novel nanoconducting polymer via a green, easy and scalable approach. This method was free of the template and harmful surfactant, leading PBOT-Z nanoparticles of uniform size c.a. 120–130 nm of well-defined shape. Successively, PBOT-Z incorporated epoxy nanocomposites were prepared which revealed that coatings exhibited outstanding anti-corrosive properties as compared to other nanocomposite coatings. This was corroborated to Boron(B) and Zirconia(Zr) in POT, both of which acted as a smart filler, dynamic cross-linkers as well as compatible modifiers.
