Abstract

In England and Wales, local areas are required to carry out crime audits on a three-yearly basis and to develop policies based on these strategies. In 2002, the Community Justice Research Centre at the University of Plymouth worked with the six districts in Cornwall to produce audits. This paper describes the ways in which data were collected and utilised and ends by suggesting how the processes might be improved in the future.
