Abstract

The purpose of the article is to characterize the conductor activity of A.Kushnirenko in the context of the choral culture of Ukraine. The research objectives are determined by the goal: a retrospective restoration of the creative path, highlighting the special features of his work with choral groups, characterizing composer and pedagogical activities, establishing the role of the conductor in the development of the choral art of Bukovina and Ukraine as a whole. The research methodology is associated with the use of theoretical analysis and synthesis methods. It is based on the works of Bukovina’s choral art researchers (Y.Vyshpinskaya, V.Zalutsky, L.Korniy, O.Kushnirenko, A.Plishka, I.Yaroshenko, and others). The scientific novelty lies in highlighting the role of Andrei Kushnirenko as a representative of the Bukovinian vocal and choral traditions and revealing the specifics of his individual conductor`s and composer style. Conclusions. The creative achievements of the famous Bukovina choirmaster are analyzed, which testifies to his extremely large contribution to the development of Ukrainian vocal and choral culture as a folklorist, conductor, and composer. The directions and results of his work are described. The influence on the personality of the master of Bukovina folk tunes and their reflection in the professional activity of Kushnirenko is determined.
