Abstract

The conductivity of binary molten mixtures of (AgAlkali)Br has been measured by a four-electrode method with ac, for (AgNa)Br, (AgK)Br, (AgRb)Br and (AgCs)Br molten mixtures at different compositions and temperatures. Conductance by charge transfer, of Grotthuss type, is considered in molten media that contain a partially covalent compound. The equivalent conductivity variations are connected with the partial covalent of silver bromide and the cation size.
