Abstract
We report conductance measurements in the cesium perfluoro octanoate (CsPFO)--${\mathrm{H}}_{2}$O system at high magnetic fields, up to 10 T. The conductance was measured as a function of temperature in the isotropic phase, and parallel to the director in the nematic and lamellar smectic phases. The conductance was also measured as a function of the aligning magnetic field. The conductance shows little variation at the nematic-to-lamellar transition, confirming previous measurements. An interpretation of the conductance in terms of micellar dimensions is given.
