Abstract

The practice of international events in the first and second decades of the 21st century, combined with the theory of classical geopolitics, shows a specific potential in the aspect concerning among others the materialization of an armed conflict with hybrid properties – an armed conflict that is atypical and not fully diagnosed in terms of polemology. The methods of its conduct and the means of destruction used in it have priority features in the context of disrupting the operation of critical infrastructure system components of a potential enemy. Their identification and evaluation, carried out among others as a result of scientific studies, prompt an anticipatory use of unlethal agents of new generation in protection and defence of components of a critical infrastructure system. Final use of technical measures in their special protection zones must and should be consistent with the provisions of the international humanitarian law of armed conflicts, which should be respected even more at peacetime.
