Abstract
1. It has been shown that addition of diethyl peroxide to a butane-xygen mixture reduces the period of in-duction of the cool flame. 2. When the additive is diethyl peroxide, organic peroxides and aldehydes are formed i n the mixture during the induction period. 3. It has been shown that the addition of acetaldehyde shortens the period of induction of the butane cool flame. Organic peroxides, which are reduced at −0.25 and −0.6 V, are formed in the mixture. 4. Addition of an amountx of peroxide or aldehyde reduces the induction period τ in accordance with the law:: log x = b — kτ
