Abstract

The conditions for starting water-immersible electric pumps depend on many factors~ viz., the depth of immersion of the pump into the well, the water level in the well, the state of the delivery pipe, the motor power, the power and voltage in the terminals of the power source, its load, the length and cross section of the electric wires, and many others. The starting conditions become more complicated as the capacity of the unit increases. In view of this, for fabricating the first ETsV 12-63-520 electric pumps with an immersion depth greater than 500 m we studied, taking account of the potentials of the experimental station, the conditions for starting the unit as a function of the voltage in the motor terminals, the length of the electric wire and its location, the location of the gate valve in the pump delivery line.
