Abstract

This paper deals with the condition assessment of induction motor performance under power quality conditions. Comprehensive investigation is performed in MATLAB/ Simulink environment. Simulink models are developed for generation of different power quality events. The identification of magnitude, type and duration of event is accomplished using Stockwell transform with different statistical features. During every event specific rise in rms current and reduction in efficiency of induction motor is observed. Electrical parameters are recorded using proposed energy meter model. The paper contributes in determination of losses occurred during different power quality conditions. Also, the effect of loss in depreciating the induction motor efficiency is evaluated.
