Abstract
A 75-year-old man presented with general weakness and nausea for 3 weeks. He had a history of prostate carcinoma, stage III, hormone refractory with metastasis to the bones, for which he underwent radical prostatectomy and was treated with antiandrogens, luteinising-hormone-releasing-hormone agonist, and systemic chemotherapy. Other problems included anaemia of chronic disease, gastrooesophageal reflux, and osteoarthritis. He received recombinent erythropoetin weekly. Vital signs were stable on presentation and clinical examination was unremarkable.
