Abstract

We close by summarizing some of the key points of our study of symmetry, special relativity and quantum mechanics. We also highlight a few of the strange consequences and puzzles posed by the current state of our knowledge. There is still a great deal that we do not yet understand about how the Universe works. What is needed in order to make further progress is guidance from a startling new experimental result that contradicts the predictions of either general relativity or quantum mechanics, or perhaps both. Alternatively, progress might be made via powerful new reasoning such as that which led to special and general relativity. In any case, given the huge advances that have been made in recent years, there is good reason to believe that a new revelation and corresponding paradigm shift may soon be forthcoming.
