Abstract

This chapter concludes and summarizes our diary of two psychoanalysts in lockdown from SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19 illness. We ask what changes have occurred in the external and internal worlds. How will people emerge from the pandemic. What society and people will be like. Whether everything will be better or worse. The hope is that in the future the new key words will be: awareness of fragility, without feeling limited; self-protection while continuing to live; care for one’s own physical and mental health and respect for that of others; trust in competence; listening to others; the ability not to feel ashamed if ill; solidarity; kindness. Our conclusions speak perhaps of a dream. Certainly they describe a psychoanalysis with a human face, characterized by being and feeling. Capable of staying close to the people who enter our rooms to be listened to, understood and supported. These conclusions relate to an ethical and political way of life, well described by the young African American poet Amanda Gorman. Working toward a future of poetry and hope.
