Abstract

The short concluding chapter reveals the central analytical objectives of the book by addressing three key research questions: how have business–government relations in China changed both across regions and industries and over the past decades? How to understand and explain the causes of changes and variations in business–government relations in China? And how have such relations shaped the development and transformation of economic institutions in China? It concludes by discussing possible developments of and challenges to be faced by China’s business–government relations in the future.
