Abstract

Abstract In the post-2020 era, it is clear that evangelicalism and democracy in America alike are in need of deep transformation and renewal. In the concluding chapter, I summarize the book’s main findings and arguments concerning reflexive and multicultural evangelicalism, the relationship between multicultural and other varieties of evangelicalism, the importance of deep and transposable social reflexivity across difference for ethical democracy, and make my closing arguments for a postsecular pragmatist approach to pluralism and ethical democracy in the United States, one with potential to help us better navigate the persistent existence of deep difference and disagreement in our pursuit of ethical democracy and common goods in American public and political life.
