Abstract

In this chapter the findings from this study are taken together to evaluate the British prime minister’s political leadership in the core executive. The four prime ministers’ political leadership in European monetary policy was analysed. It considered to what extent the press and the party in parliament as well as other members of the core executive affected this leadership and how the premiers handled these potential constraints.
