Abstract

The Diels–Alder reaction of anthracene with C60 has been investigated experimentally by using secondary isotope effects. The inverse α-secondary isotope effect in conjunction with the unity value of the β-secondary isotope effect indicates a concerted mechanism for the title reaction.
