Abstract
This paper presents a comparative spatial evaluation of reflectivity properties and the intensity of atmospheric turbulence in convective cells with rain, thunderstorms and hail. We propose that classification criteria for hazardous weather phenomena are to be supplemented with an additional parameter – eddy dissipation rate – to improve the forecast success rate and classification reliability.
